A final word.

Thats it I'm done, the work is all finished I shall be handing the work in, in about an hour, final reflection- I was pleased, super pleased with the way the whole thing turned out, I love it when a plan comes together, this obviously wasn't all my own doing I want to say a massive thank you to Danielle Pullin, James Warwick, Kimmi Haslam, Aemelia Edwards, Sami Weller, Vee Guillermoprieto, Ty Williams, Joe Packham, Milly Clarke, Tom Tricky, Adrianne Tilling, Jon Boxall and a special someone who really has been amazing and so so helpful I honestly wouldn't have been able to finish if you hadn't have step in thank you so much, to Furzey Gardens, the Chisel theatre and Milbrook boxing ring, oh and also to all the shops that I brought and returned costumes too! haha.

So yeah I'd love to say that I wouldn't change a thing and to be honest the things I would change are so so little that they are almost un important, I think my key to the shoots going so well was the planning time I spent, also that I really spent time find good people to work with and worked with people I have worked with before and that I could trust to work well and that I got on with.

I think it also went smoothly as I had made a practice film before hand of some work that I did, we actually used some of this footage in my final film as it was part of my final project, it was just a test version to see if the idea would actually work, I was so pleased with the out come that I wanted to involve this work too.

right well I'm off to hand in!

DVD design.

So the time came for me to send of my design for my dvd's at first I was think off having my logo and an the image of the lips on the front of the dvd, this was the image-

But then I was advised by my editor to keep it very clean and simple so here is the final design-

I then had to decide on the type of covers I was going have, I was thinking about having a cd case with my contact details on and some cover art of my work, but I then decided to also keep this simple like the cover and to add my details around the out side of the disc art and to use the clam shell cases that protect the dvd but also don't shatter like normal cased.

An Imaginary Portrait

I also created a makeup and hair look for my cousin's experimental film, unfortunately I couldnt find anyone to film behind the scenes as the shoot took place in London in the Sunbeam studios but I wanted to use the film in my final major as it was work experience that I had done during the project and I only wanted to and took on projects that would work in my film.
this was a stop motion film so it was a few hundred pictures taken on an SLR camera and then edited together into a film. here are just a few behind the scenes.

too see the whole film just head over to my website www.lucybarnesmakeup.co.uk

Filming

So I started filming on the 28th of April, at this point I was still planning the body paint but as said it when out the window quite soon after filming started, we started at 7am and I was back home at about half 7 in the evening, so the days were quite long but really fun.
here are my designs for the leading girl and for one of the boys but all the boys where based around the same costumes and the makeup for each of the was the same, the whole cast consisted of 6 lads, 2 girls and one older man that was in drag! (this can be seen in the footage).

MAJOR UPDATE!

Ok,
So the last few weeks have been epically busy, I have barely had time to sleep let alone update this blog, I have however been writing down comments and thought of stuff as I have been going so I am going to basically type up what I have. enjoy.

So much has happened over the last few weeks, my plans of creating a body paint went out of the window as I had some filming work experience come up, but the good thing was that I managed to film some behind the scenes action to use in my film, the plan right from the start of this project was too gain work experience in my chosen career path of film and use this within the project but at the time of proposal there was nothing on the horizon so I chose to plan photoshoots instead. But just when I was starting to put together the body paint I then got the option to be head and only makeup artist on a student film for a friend so of course  I put the body paint on the back burner and did 6 days on set instead.
I then email a contact that works in TV in the makeup department and she said that its best to really show the field that I want to go into, so the body the paint kinda when out of the window.
